Admission Procedure
The Ph.D. Programme is intended to develop high-quality researchers and academicians who can contribute to teaching, innovation, policy, and research at national and international levels.
- The admission process to the PhD programme of MDU is a two-step process: a common entrance test (known as MDU-RET).
- The interview process. The admission process for the Ph.D. programme of MDU will be the responsibility of the Academic Registrar, MDU and will be carried out through a Central Process. The admission to the Ph.D. Programme of MDU will be depending upon availability of vacancy position of scholars.
Elligibilty Criteria for admission to PhD programme
Following are the main criteria for admission to PhD programme
- Candidates must have a Master’s or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories), including recognized foreign degrees accredited by authorized agencies.
- Selection is based on 70% entrance test + 30% interview; DRC evaluates suitability, URC allots supervisors, and admission depends on available seats and infrastructure, with options for full-time or part-time study.
